It made headlines then, and it still does today, as the descendant of the DuMont family has decided to reopen its doors—against the wishes of many locals—as a horror experience called The Suicide Hotel.
The DuMont Inn has a long history of unexplained suicides. According to the police investigation, every victim took their own life 90 minutes after checking into the inn. Given the circumstances, the lack of evidence, and the accidental fire that claimed the lives of the DuMont couple, the police ultimately decided to shut the inn down.
Despite the harsh criticism and backlash he has received, the new owner is moving forward with the opening of this horror attraction. He invites anyone brave enough to step inside the inn, uncover its macabre story, and try to survive the infamous ‘90 minutes’—which, according to legend, no one has ever made it through alive.

Two horror modes available
The Suicide Hotel is an experience featuring two horror modes that adapt to your preferred intensity level:
Terror Mode: Heavy interaction with the characters, a considerable number of jump scares and courage‑testing moments, visual scenes, horror music, and sudden blackouts.
Tension Mode: The experience is lived in a calmer way, with no chase scenes and no characters whose purpose is to scare you. However, you will still have an actor who guides you into the story and accompanies you throughout the experience. The horror-themed set design and music, the sudden blackouts, and the courage‑testing moments are all maintained.
